About Passport North

Passport North is an informational travel website operated by a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada. It publishes travel-planning content, destination information, recommendations, affiliate links, and advertising. Passport North is not a travel agency and does not act as the supplier of third-party travel services unless expressly stated.

Informational purpose

Website content is provided for general information and inspiration. It is not legal, immigration, medical, financial, safety, insurance, or professional travel advice. Conditions change quickly, and content may become incomplete or outdated.

Before making a booking or travelling, visitors are responsible for checking official government advisories, passports and visas, entry and health requirements, weather and emergency information, supplier terms, insurance coverage, accessibility needs, and local laws.

Affiliate links advertising and external services

The website may contain affiliate links, sponsored content, and advertising. Passport North may receive compensation from qualifying transactions or placements. External providers control their own websites, services, prices, availability, contracts, privacy practices, and customer support.

A link or advertisement does not create a partnership, agency, endorsement, or guarantee beyond the relationship specifically disclosed. Transactions with third parties are governed by the third party’s terms and are made at the visitor’s discretion.

Permitted use

Visitors may use the website for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. Without prior written permission, visitors must not:

  • Copy, republish, sell, license, or commercially exploit substantial website content.
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or data by automated means except as permitted by law or an applicable public search-engine directive.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with security, introduce malicious code, or disrupt the website or its providers.
  • Misrepresent affiliation with Passport North or use its name, branding, or content in a misleading manner.
  • Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, abusive, or rights-infringing activity.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise identified, the original text, layout, branding, graphics, and other original material on Passport North are owned by or licensed to Passport North and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, logos, photographs, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Accuracy availability and changes

Passport North aims to provide useful information but does not promise that every statement is complete, current, or error-free. The website or any feature may be changed, suspended, or discontinued without notice. Passport North is not responsible for outages or failures outside its reasonable control.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or collateral. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Passport North will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of the website, reliance on its content, travel decisions, or dealings with third parties. Passport North does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Privacy

Use of personal information is described in the Passport North Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Those policies form part of the website’s notice framework but do not reduce rights provided by applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without limiting mandatory consumer or privacy rights that may apply in another jurisdiction. Subject to those mandatory rights, disputes will be brought before the courts of British Columbia.

Severability and waiver

If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

Updates

Passport North may revise these terms when the website, business practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will identify the current version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
